Then there are the metal press tools which are used to work on metal. These tools change its shape and internal structure. This makes the metal even more strong. A good example is a set of rollers or precision sheet metal stampings, which are used to make the metal thinner or wider. Then there is the punch press which is used to punch holes through metal.
Precision sheet metal stampings are used to punch, coin, bend and modify the metal in many other ways. EMI shielding cases help to shield other electronic machines from electromagnetic interference which can disrupt their performance. Precision dies and progressive dies are used in the metal stamping machines which do the actual work of casting, punching, cutting and shaping the metal sheet.
The old lathes are these days being replaced by CNC turning lathes because they are easy to set up and operate. Their design makes it possible to use modern carbide tooling and make optimum use of modern processes. The part is first designed and the tool path is then programmed by CAD. The resulting file is uploaded in the machine and the machine then turns out parts without any manual support. The old lathes required the operator to have immense knowledge about each machine but with CNC turning lathes the operator only needs skills to operate the machine. Also the cost of the lathes has reduced dramatically over the years.
There are many machines that are similar to each other. They differ because of the manufacturer’s expertise and skill in making it. There are some factors that you should consider before selecting a supplier of precision sheet metal stampings, metal press tools and precision dies. The first factor is quality, for example, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are certifications that you must look at. For machines, quality means its life. It should break down that you buy the machine from an OEM manufacturer or OEM manufacturer in one day or within a week it breaks down. It should be rust free and noise free. It should have user friendly operations. It should not be the case that to operate it, you will need to hire experts. The machine should be easy to maintain and clean. Your employees should be able to do its upkeep on a regular basis along with occasional servicing from professionals.
Taiwan manufacturers and exporters are reputable. The prices are compared competitive. If you are a middle man then you should get a good profit margin on the purchase and sale of the machines and if a credit facility is available, the better it is. There should be an after sales service from the manufacturer and 24x7 customer supports.
