What is an award plaque?
A plaque is a flat plate that is usually given as an award or commemoration of an important event or person. A plaque can be made from various materials such as wood, metal, stone, brass or ceramics. In award plaques, the important names, dates, places and events are usually engraved. Some award plaques are framed in glasses and some are manufactured like picture frames that you could place on a table. Another variety of award plaques, called wall plaques are even designed to be mounted on walls.
Advantages of award plaques:
To honor or recognize achievements, award giving bodies can choose from ribbons, trophies and a lot more. However, many of them prefer to give away plaques as a souvenir of achievement. Award plaques carry many advantages.
1. Plaques can be made out of different materials. You can choose among ceramics, wood, metal and stone. You could even combine these materials in making the plaque as unique and stylish as possible. The wide assortment of materials from which award plaques can be made of is an attractive feature. This gives the plaque maker more choices in creating the plaques.
2. Award plaques can be placed in a table or mounted on a wall. This option gives the bearers of the plaque an amount of freedom on where to place these plaques. These strategic locations are good display places where you can place the souvenirs of your achievement. Award plaques can serve as interesting conversation pieces, too. 3. It is easy to put colors, styles, engravings and other embellishments in an award plaque. They are easily done and they add life and vibrancy to any plaque or recognition plate. The ease at which other stylistic embellishments could be added unto an award plaque makes it a favorite among award-giving bodies. It is also possible to engrave names, places, logos and other designs. This makes wall plaques more unique and personalized than any other award article. The engravings and embedment could also serve another purpose. If the plaque comes from a company or other institution, the plaque could serve as a subtle but beautiful form of advertisement for them. Their names, logos, and other distinguishing marks like addresses could be embedded in such plaques.
