A normal question that is asked of people with experiences dealing with the local Taxi Service is what the best way is for you to tip your taxi driver? For some the thought of having to calculate a quick tip is uncomfortable. They might be uncomfortable with the math or more often than not will worry about appearing too cheap by putting too much thought into deciding how much of a tip they are going to give the taxi driver. The first idea that any experienced rider of the local Taxi Service will provide you is that tips are going to be expected. The fact is that tips are a huge portion of how any cab driver makes their income so, whenever you flag a cab, you should always be expecting to leave some kind of tip for the driver. However, there are plenty of different ways that you can figure out just how much is going to make for a fair trip. Firstly, if you are deciding to ride with the local taxi service, you should always estimate your fair and be sure that you have at least around ten percent more than what you are guessing the tip to be. Roughly fifteen percent of your fare is the normal rate for the trip, but at least ten percent should be considered a decent minimum for a tip to the driver. One of the easy ways for people to tip their taxi drivers is just to simply tell them to keep the change when they pay. For example, if your cab fare ended up costing a total of $17.50, simply tell the driver to keep the change from a twenty, and you can be confident that you aren't skimping out on giving them a decent tip. This method doesn't always work however. If your price ends up coming too close to whatever bill you were paying with, or you weren't going as far then you are going to have to come up with another method of tipping. One other method of figuring out how much you need to tip your driver is to just do the math as if you were leaving a tip at a restaurant. A fifteen percent tip is what cab drivers usually expect to get. Anything less can be cheap, though in some cases you may feel that they do not deserve a full fifteen percent. Of course, for others, you may even decide to give them more. Ultimately that depends on the experience of your trip.
