One of the best things you can consume to maintain good health is EPA and DHA. They are essential Omega 3 fatty acids found in fish oil with other non essential fatty acids. They help you maintain good health and have a lot more health benefits that come with them. You can get the omega 3 fats from flax seeds and walnut in minimal quantity but it is more plentiful to get these from oily fish. These omega 3 fats are also known as ALA omega 3’s. As mentioned earlier, these essential fats are beneficial to the body in a lot of ways. Some of the benefits according to belief that I have on these supplements are given below:

Everybody goes through the problem of Inflammation at one stage or the other. One way to have efficient reduction of silent inflammation requires using high dose ultra refined fish oil on a lifetime basis. This is why you want to use the most concentrated form of long chain omega 3 fatty acids enriched with EPA/DHA with the lowest levels of toxic contaminants, such as PCBs and dioxins.

More than half your brain is made up of fats and half of that constitute DHA fats. Our body does not produce DHA fats and since it is an essential intake for our body, it has to be consumed from an outside source. Hence, by increasing the intake of this, your brain actually gets fed by what it needs the most. So, these fats help in the health of your brain. You can benefit from an improved memory, better concentration and can get out of depression if you suffer from too many mood swings. Consume more of these fatty acids if want to improve your brains function.

EPA and DHA fish oil is also said to be very effective in reducing the chances of developing certain cancers like breast cancer, colon and prostate. The short chain fatty acids, also known as omega 6 causes cancer when they are present in our body on a higher level; and consuming EPA and DHA fish oil lower the risks of developing the same.

For example, the Eskimos of Greenland suffered very little from coronary heart disease despite a diet very high in fat. The primary source of fat in their diet came from sea mammals, which contain high amounts of long-chain omega3 fatty acids EPA and DHA found in fish oil.

As previously stated, these are some of the benefits that you can get from the consumption of EPA and DHA fish oil. In addition, there is research going on to find out additional benefits from taking in these fish oil supplements regularly. Consider using purified fish oil supplements rich in EPA and DHA to help reduce inflammation that can cause chronic diseases over a lifetime.
