It is important that you communicate with everyone who will be attending just in case someone's hotel or flight plans fall through or change at the last minute. Finally, be a gracious host. How many of us have been to a family holiday celebration and have felt out of place or unwelcome? Most people have more than likely felt this way at one time or another. The best way to keep this from happening is to ensure that everyone knows what is expected of them. Make sure that Uncle Bob knows he is supposed to bring the paper plates; and if, by chance, you failed to tell him - make sure that you don't make him feel bad when he arrives without them. Also, make sure that everyone is comfortable in your home, that they know where everything they need is located, and that they know that they are welcome there. Family Holidays can be the greatest time of the year. The best way to make sure it stays that way is to follow the above tips. So, make this holiday season a happier one for everyone involved by planning, following through, and being a great host.
